
Meet Chef Jasmine
Born and raised in Los Angeles, I always had a passion for fresh quality ingredients for better taste and health. With 15 years of professional chef experience, I founded Be Free Café to provide products that allows everyone with a gluten free lifestyle to feel normal again.
Growing up in a modest household, I had to first educate myself on what nature naturally provides for us and why. This led me to two years of a paleo lifestyle, which soon shed light on my gluten intolerance.
In 2012 my doctor confirmed my gluten allergy. The major drawback was that everything gluten-free at that time resembled cardboard! I began to feel left out at parties, events, and restaurants from the lack of GF options on the menu. To make matters worse, I often felt ill-mannered when having to refuse food offered from friends and family.
It was a few years later out of frustration I decided to bake a GF coffeecake to mimic one from a nearby coffee shop. It was a success! That very moment I realized that foods without gluten can be unnoticeably gluten free and DELICIOUS!
